CARE’s 2018 Summer Art Camp was a great success! Titled “The Land Where We Live”, Documenting the Delta Through Art and Photography, campers spent the week doing just that. Older campers painted and photographed different scenes around the delta, while the younger campers did projects that corresponded to the older kids’ projects.
Towards the end of the week, campers worked on creating a photo-book that documented their experiences and showcased their amazing work that they created during the week. We have copies of this book available for purchase in the Charleston Arts Center. An exhibit reception was held on July 29 that featured the campers’ artwork, and it remained on display for several weeks.
A huge thanks to the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area for supporting this year’s art camp!
